country's greenhouse gas emissions at their 2005 levels over the next five
years, according to press reports Friday.

KANSAS GOVERNOR VETOES CONTROVERSIAL ENERGY BILL, CREATES CLIMATE TASK FORCE
The governor of Kansas vetoed a bill Friday that would have allowed the
construction of two conventional coal-fired power plants, saying impending
federal climate change legislation would have made those facilities an
“economic liability.”

MARYLAND STATE SENATE BATTLES OVER CLIMATE BILL
