RE: Blue chip for sale !!!!These analysis just do not understand advertising. Their negativity is based on companies dropping their yellow page advertising listing and using only their web site as the only means available to find them.
This kind of thinking is very myopic. First of all, "Gary's plumbing" and "Doug's Excavating" probably will never own a website. They are small local businesses whose users won't discover them via the internet. When I was in the advertising business, almost every small business stated almost all of their revenue from advertising came from yellow pages. There really is nothing else out their that is effective. During a recession, yellow pages will be the last thing cut from a company and that will only occur if the company goes out of business. Every new business will have a yellow page listing.
For those that say the internet is replacing the yellow pages, yellow pages is on the internet. They are a partner with google. Their website is much more local specific. When people use google they find people all over the world on their searches. Canada411 is much more easy to use and is area specific.
Yellow pages keeps growing from adding separate yellow pages areas. Recently Thunder Bay was added and as a result Thunder Bay will be added to the internet. The internet for yellow pages is showing incredible growth. This is where the future growth is for YLO.un.
Finally, yellow pages is a monopoly. It is extremely difficult for any one to compete against them as their brand name is too strong
