afirs vs ?From the AMS website:
"Our airline customers estimate that they will save 14 million litres of jet fuel annually through enhanced logistical planning with afirs technology. At current jet fuel prices that results in over $7 million USD saved!" Just for interest I googled "enhanced logistical planning" and you come up with all kinds of information, bottom line is to reduce costs - I think everyone agrees that the aerospace industry is very specialized with many over-lapping technologies in use, JMHO but AMS with their afirs has created something better for
"optimized integration and delivery of aircraft information for next generation aircraft operations and support concepts" Back to justifying fuel savings, part of the reason is pretty straightforward
" Reducing fuel costs through weight savings, as afirs hardware is up to 15 times lighter than the major competing system." 10 lbs. vs 150 lbs. - it is always about weight. Remember how heavy a lap top was 15 years ago? Just look at how the airlines keep cutting back on the weight of the luggage you are allowed - soon be down to a change of under wear and a tooth brush, lol. As for the share price - the trend is now up. Markets are nuts. This moves fast on news and tends to get ahead of itself . The big spike in January fits with multiple NRs the last week of December and over-all market rally from tax loss selling. It retraced as expected after such a run and now who knows, probably up and down in a new range until news. Product is 'disruptive technology' in a niche market that is currently having huge growth. Finished R&D phase where they constantly need money, to sales and installation phase where they make money = cash flow positive by fall of 2008. Anticipating OEM - not if but when and in the meantime they continue to get STC approvals and additional contracts. Currently backlogged on installs. Meggitt connection. Great management team and PR with Howard Group - they always take calls or emails with answers to any questions. Insiders including employees buying. Recurring income - cell phone example, buy phone plus basic plan at $xx/month, then charge more for extras. Contracts 5 to possible 30 years. Funds buying and analysts covering. Yes this is a chatty bb but I appreciated input from longs last year along with my own DD and communication with AMS and Bob Beatty. The sharing of knowledge - positive or negative is something I welcome plus the light-hearted banter. If I come across a bit rah, rah, go AMA go it is because I am. My decision to invest last year in the $.60s based on fundamentals gave me the gift of selling enough at the high to sit back with none of my own money on the table - not bad for a six month wait and I believe much more to come. Cheers and GLTA
