RE: Drilling Progress-WILDCAT81
RE: Drilling Progress-WILDCAT81WILDCAT81: Yes it is possible and base it on the following
IMO the drilling to date at 2K-39 is within the protracted timelines since kickoff as noted in payt's posting. I would have to agree with the proposed 75-90 day drilling time to get down to the total depth, even though it is rather generous with that timeline in relation to drilling in an established area or known production horizon. IMO there have been no disasters at 2K-39 to date, otherwise the increase in traffic by specialty services or equipment would have been picked up by those in the area. They will continue to follow the outlined Drilling Program that few if any of the posters on this Forum have seen to this date. I believe that I have not seen anything on that nature in my inbox or email, and would think most of us would be the last ones to see it anyways.
It might be a good idea to follow that Drilling Program, although virtually anytime after drilling out the surface casing shoe, if the geologist is backed with adequate information, they could highly recommend a drill stem test on that portion of the open hole section (ie at the 20 mmbl level). In some areas to confirm whether they will twin a well or set different size casing, these tests before reaching the actual total depth could provide additional information to the operating company and its partners to make additional plans or even terminate the well at that point and set casing. It would then possibly skid the rig, and drill the initially intended hole. There are many variables whilst drilling a well and not much has been excluded from those striving for a quick payout, selling off the bottom portion of the well or even abandoning a well to come back only a short while later with a reentry.
There could be a few surprises in store for CIVC, regardless whether it is able to maintain the Tight Hole status at 2K-39. If no tests are called and they continue to provide adequate well control and stability, the progress of the well could proceed until the open hole logging and then some testing of the section that will be covered by the intermediate casing. Drilling beyond the intermediate casing according to the Drilling Program or as additional information may dictate, may provide information that IMO will not be able to be controlled despite their best efforts. If it is that good, we may see a second well to confirm the extent of the reservoir or maybe even a buyout offer that a CFO could resist.
