RE: Margin change at TDWarren ...RBC has had DML at a 50% margin rate for as long as I have held DML (over a year in one account) and about half 1/2 a year in another. Maybe TD was being nice. besides at only a 25% change and depending where one bought it...it may not have all that much effect. If you like the stock toss some cash at it.
And if you read the small print on your margin agreement they're really a demand load...they can ask for the whole loan back immediately... if they want.
Margin can be a useful tool and I use it... but I also hedge with Calls to help protect my positions. And you better have some cash, or access to cash to back up your margin positions or buy quality only.
