SiritInc. ("Sirit") (TSX: SI), a leading provider of radio frequencyidentification ("RFID") technology, announced today the release of anew firmware version for its best-in-class INfinity 510 ("IN510") UHFreader. The upgrade includes several important enhancements thatfurther extend the industry leading feature set of the IN510.
Regionalregulatory compatibilities added include Australia, China, Israel,South Africa and Taiwan, bringing the total to eighteen regions.
The new version 2.0 firmware includes advancements in Sirit's proprietary tag acquisition algorithms, enhancing tag singulation performancecapabilities and reader sensitivity. The Dense Reader Mode interferencetolerance has been further improved to new benchmark levels for theindustry. The IN510 continues to be the only UHF reader with EPCglobalcertification for use under both FCC and ETSI regulations.
Newfeatures added to the IN510 include support for the EPC Gen 2 customcommands built into NXP's UCODE G2XM and G2XL chips. The customcommands extend the functionality of EPC Gen 2 applications beyondsimple compliance tagging and provide extended value for end-users.Included among the custom commands is Electronic Article Surveillancefor increased theft protection and Read Protect, which preventsunauthorized reading of a tag and provides enhanced privacy protection.The EM4222 chip-set from EM Microelectronic is also supported by thenew firmware and operational enhancements were added for TexasInstruments' EPC Gen 2 chip.
