Diamondiferous Kimberlites Located on Iciena's Bat

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, May 15, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

ICIENA VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE: IIE) ("Iciena" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that kimberlites located on its Batovi property are diamondiferous.

Kimberlites Confirmed Diamondiferous

Iciena is pleased to report that results have shown that the property contains diamondiferous kimberlites. Ten kimberlite samples ranging from 53.86 to 214.40 kilograms were collected by pitting or augering. The samples were processed at CF Mineral Research Ltd. for diamonds and diamond indicator minerals. The results are presented in the following table:

These kimberlites were previously discovered. Though not expected to be significantly diamondiferous they were sampled to assess the diamond potential of the region. The results confirmed that although not significantly diamondiferous several of the kimberlites either contained small quantities of diamonds or contained diamond indicators suggesting that the claims area is prospective for diamonds.

Testing of New Geophysical Anomalies Planned

To allow prioritization of the anomalies for drilling a pitting and augering program is planned to commence shortly. This program will test targets identified by the airborne geophysical survey that have not previously been tested. As previously disclosed (March 26, 2008) there are a total of 20 untested priority one anomalies ranging in size up to 34 hectares. In addition there are 19 priority two anomalies and 10 priority three anomalies which have yet to be tested.

Summary

Testing of previously discovered kimberlites confirms that the Batovi claims are prospective for diamondiferous kimberlites. A total of 49 untested geophysical anomalies were identified with a state of the art helicopter borne magnetic and electromagnetic survey. A program of augering and pitting will be conducted to prioritize kimberlites to be tested for the planned drill program.
