reply to browndog.... sit boy ,,, smack,,,my point was - why don't we ever read about the potential downside of this "mine"? why is it always "great news" and never the reality? It is mixed news at best. Are we waiting for June to make a another big announcement? I hope they do ask every time they make a big one - the stock falls. So far its over $2.00 off it's high. Thats what? about $140,000,000.00 loss of stock holder equity? I raised the issues because they don't..... Shakey Lakes is close. That's a public park that will have a say what goes on here. The Shakey Lakes Savannah is right next door. This is an area of endangered and threatened species. This will have an impact on any mining. It had been on the EPA and DNR's back burner but it now on the front burner. Native Americans stopped the Crandon mine... if "Crandon" sounds familiar its because Aquila refers to it quite often in their literature... thanks Aquila for the analogy...... what people neglect to mention is there are many tribes here represented by a cohesive group.... this "group or council" has much more assets that does Aquila,,, granted Aquila isn't why they're here,,, Aquila's not that important,.... this issue's been going on for over 30-years but thanks to a potential "acid generating mine" and has regained interest.... why shouldn't it? it has burial mounds, village sites, dance rings,,, growing fields, etc... Ask the MDNR why Sixty Islands wasn't allowed to be explored,....... Native American issues.... This WILL BE AN ISSUE! What other property is involved? Here's some articles to read...
