Blue Ensign Technologies is seeking a re-listing on the Australian stock exchange as it aims to put the Rendall Process for oil shale conversion into use. Blue Ensign aims to build a demonstration shale processing plant at Townsville that would process shale from the Julia Creek deposit, owned by its Queensland Shale Oil subsidiary. Based on the traditional Fischer Assay technology for oil shale conversion, the deposit has estimated reserves of 895 million barrels of shale oil. Its resource increases to as much as two billion barrels if the Rendall Process is applied.
