RE: Quiet
RE: QuietLeigh, I know you're a smart guy and you know I respect your opinion and input but it sounds like you're thinking with your heart and not your brain. Kieran is obviouslly a huge assest to the company but by putting all the responsibity on his shoulders for doing the QP work and dealing with prospective buyers has slowed down the flow of information to the markets and SP momentum - it has also created an economic dependence on his expertise which is unhealthy for any organization. All in all this was bad management which should have been dealt with much sooner than and created another unnecesassary barrier to success. I disagree with your comment that the reason for the European trip is irrelevent as there are a very limited number of reasons to go over there other than German white wine and as shareholders we desearve to expect tangible results from corporate expenditures. What really concerned me about your comments was that "the company wasn't willing to accept low ball offers" - to me this makes no sense. I would think Mike would be jumping through hoops to get people like me off his back and would encourage an initial bid just to establish a basement SP. I would go so far to give whichever company that made that offer a preferred status in negiotiations. A 1M oz find with our share structure has to be worth $4 and we all know T11 has to have almost that amount. Wouldn't your life and Mike's be easier if the SP was $4 today - it's my understanding that even a rejected low ball offer would raise the SP. As for Detour, I brought them up to illustrate that maybe the existing stradegy wasn't the only one that could lead to success - Detour's property is very similiar to GL's and they have been successful in raising their SP by completing a 43-101 for basically half of what the experts think is there. Why wouldn't we follow in their footsteps and and prove up T11 just to get the ball moving ? The right staradegy is the one that gets the results maybe we should look critically at our stradegy. As for my comment that we might need a new group of story tellers - I don't doubt the guys we have are talented or good people but you need different skills to find the gold than you need to market the property - a part of the puzzle is missing maybe we just need a couple new people with different skills. I'm not a naysayer, I believe in the property and to a great degree in the management but the current SP has to be considered a failure in virtually any context.
