Thx Anchor - A bit long and I am not sure it answered the question around peak oil but some nice insights in LT trends.

One thing I don't see come back in these discussions is the drop of the dollar - if you calculate the value drop of the dollar against the Euro basically from parity to 1.50 $ per 1 € , it puts the current prices in perspective:

Indexed price of oil is then around $90 - which seems more in-line with price development.
