RE: CNI Sparing Spin...Voclosporin Positioning

RE: CNI Sparing Spin...Voclosporin PositioningAdditional info AJT study received May/05, published in 2006....
"Complete Avoidance of Calcineurin Inhibitors in Renal Transplantation: A Randomized Trial Comparing Sirolimus and Tacrolimus"

https://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/pdf/10.1111/j.1600-6143.2005.01177.x

Similar results reported comparing CNI-free regimen using sirolimus-MMF-prednisone when compared to a regimen of tacrolimus-MMF-prednisone. "The long-term impact of total avoidance of CNIs on renal function remains unclear and longer follow-up is needed to determine if total avoidance of CNIs will lead to improvements in long-term graft survival."

Flash forward to 2008, more publshed/known about long term use of MMF(Cellcept), new cautions, same thing about Sirolimus (more Diabetes etc). Would not want to be on Prednisone for long duration as well.
Would be nice to see an update on this type of study incorporating the downside risks of each, perhaps expanding to Volclosporin/MMF.
