RE: North by North East

RE: North by North East
java,

"The company is still for sale!"    What time frame are you talking?  Didn't Ken say he was taking this to production?   And that he was anticipating start up this year?   Do you think
Mitsui is on board for a quick buck from a Company sale...or for the coal?   Their business is supplying coal to customers...not staging companies for a sale...IMHO.     Why would they want to see CMK sold?   Why would that be in thier best interest?   Quick turn of $$$???   I doubt it.
Same goes for TK.   Why would they be more interested in a quick sale...instead of a 'huge' supply of iron ore?

"There is no depth of  management, there is no corporate communications.  However there is a facade  that this is still  moving forward"
As far as CMK not having depth of management...why would you need that if you have availability of Mitsui personnel for the technical aspects.   Also there is vast knowledge of the mining business by individuals or companies for hire that can assist CMK for anything that Mitsui is not able to provide.   Nice to have Mitsui talent at our disposal.   Mitsui is our experience on loan...or for hire.   It is in thier best interest to have this up and going ASAP.    My bet is that we already have an agreement that Mitsui gets a discount on coal for their expertise and their financial help in getting this up and running...and for dealing with the clients.   They have plenty of experience in this field also.

"But with out today's announcement, they  can not proceed to the de-watering."
My bet is that dewatering has already started and it's possible that the dewatering has been going on for some period of time now.   No way Ken would have finalized the purchase of the surface assets prior to having a legal ownership of the below surface assets.  This probably included a contract with a time table as to when the check could be presented.  My bet is that the 43-101 had to be finalized first...but that CMK could proceed with assessing the equipment and dewatering.   I doubt that money has been an issue...the issue is how fast can the water be taken from the mine.   How large were the pumps in New Orleans?  Ha!   However, there are other issues to deal with also...like updating the mining permit, referbishing equipment or buying new.   Lead times.   etc.   So we have time to dewater.

As you say, It takes time to accomplish these objectives.   But I would bet that Ken has people on each of these objectives already...in fact I'll bet they have been working on these items well before todays announcement.   I'll bet that Mitsui personnel have already assessed the above ground equipment.   So even though we don't have access to all the infomation we would like, it doesn't mean that nothing has been happening.

I figured that the next news release would be the actual payment/purchase finalized of Elk Creek.  After that I would not know...but I would agree that it would probably not be Madagascar.

So again...why are you so sure CMK is for sale?    I used to buy into the 'For Sale' idea...but not any more.
