increased financing

increased financing

From my discussions with Wellington West about this deal, it would seem that some institutions wanted in on the giveaway financing. Between their greed and that of WW for the fat commisions they would make, they talked BUK into increasing the PP by a factor of 3+.

From BUK's perspective, it was an opportunity to fill their coffers with cash, something that is indeed hard to come by these days. They sacrificed the interests of their shareholders for the security of having lots of capital for whatever may come up.

So it is a negative but also a positive. The major negative is that WW gave preferential treatment to a select group of investors, as not everyone could access this placement. If all existing shareholders could have gotten these units, the total effect on their holdings would be minimal, but as it is we all got diluted and have lost a percentage of our potential future gains.

The positive is that this placement puts BUK ina great financial position, and once the cash flow from Durango starts flowing, it will indeed be an exciting few years coming up. Basically zero downside risk with unlimited possibilities. No wonder the big players wanted in. They weren't there to support the company when there was risk, but the friggin leaches sure lined up for this gift.
