RE: SA shorts
Hi Wiggy,
Isn't it when you short a stock, you don't necessarily have to have the stock on hand but you borrow it from your broker. Once the owner of the stock that you borrowed put it up for sale, then your broker will inform you that you have to cover. This is my understanding. Am I missing something?
For all we know, our stocks with our brokers maybe right now being borrowed by shorters/daytraders to short SA stocks.
Also those PP participants I understand can short the shares because they have shares in their hands but not yet mature to trade.
