RE: The Dry Hole Myth/ Peter
RE: The Dry Hole Myth/ PeterYour question:
They assumed that the oil was between 3000 and 4200. So if they drilled to 4400 and then decide to go to 5500 why is that a good sign?
My answers:
1. As Panda stated if the hit gas they will go to 5500 to see if oil sits at the bottom of the resevoir.
2. If they hit oil or gas they will want to prove the bottom of the resevoir.
3. An extra 1100 meters would cost approximately $10,000,000.00 add to that they are already over budget with the breakdown delays. I cannot reiterate more that this is mostly private Sintez money. If all they had was dust, a decsion to go deeper would not be approved.
