My take...

My take...

… I don’t believe I can tell you what I “think” because there are too many variables, but I’ll tell you what I “hope”…

Hmmm, maybe I’ll do both…

I hope (and somewhat think) that demand will be huge in the U.S. because of the “American connections” Westport has made there… it will be viewed as a new offering that is “somewhat home grown”… and this “environmental” topic is definitely on everyone’s mind right now…

I think the U.S election is going to play a huge roll in this stocks performance, because Mr. Pickens seems to have been successful in making alternative energy (or energy concerns) an election issue and both candidates appear to be speaking the same language (albeit with a different twist, from one another)…

I think Mr. Pickens will either add more to his holdings, or to maintain his 12.5%... (19 % max)

Hurricane season is still coming and one big blast in the Gulf and oil prices will sky-rocket… and so could Westport stock… this will keep the speculators happy…

American IPOs can be open ended, and if this is the case here, you never know how much cash could be raised… IMHO, the more the better…

I also think that most Mutual Funds will view the offering as the “one chance” they can take a major stake in the company, so interest could be huge here (in Canada) as well… and I would not count out “all” mutual finds from taking a position because it looks like a no-brainer at this point (environmentally, I mean)… the one thing that has always bothered me about Canadian investors is that they never see the value in their own people, products, and companies until Americans own the majority of them. Then its like someone turned on the switch and everyone thinks, “It must be worth investing in, the Americans bought it”… this mentality really gets my goat, and I think demand in Canada will rise in lock-step with American demand for this reason… and the best part about this, if it happens, is that those shares are pretty much stagnant (in the funds)…

I would have liked to have seen a situation where the (an) offering would have had a “hold period”, but this clearly cannot happen in this case.

I definitely think that we could be looking at $37 +/- million next quarter (historically the weakest quarter of Westport’s year), and if that happens, the stock could rocket in September/October…

I think short traders will take a bath in Westport stock because they have too many irons in the fire right now, and even followers of the stock can’t guess what direction the next NR is coming from; it will burn them so badly that they will never return “en masse”…

I think history will prove that many companies will buy Westport stock as a hedge against future uncertainties... (I don’t want to say more about this right now…)

… I can’t think of more to ad to this right now, I have too much going through my brain… need to go for a drive… bbl
