RE: What is Roche going to doPOC, they never had ntpro on a poc tester only the larger lab based machines. There was a recall of the poc test for Troponin T and Myoglobin. You can do a google search or product recalls Roche. this was back in 2004.
Roche owns nt-proBNP and have given non-exclusives to other companies. Just remember that Roche picked RBM and have rebranded RBM to make it their own. The business model seems to be to make nt-pro available to as many people as possible forcing BNP testing into a less important role.
What would happen to Biosite's BNP test is everyone was using ntprobnp instead?. Kind of like Apple vs. IBM and IBM clones. Look who won that battle? The clones of course.
