Business Development
Building on our USAID approval in the previous quarter, MedMira continues to open new sales channels with procurement and aid agencies involved in global public health programs. This quarter MedMira became an approved supplier to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). PAHO, headquartered in Washington, DC, is an international public health agency working with Latin America and Caribbean countries on priority health issues such as HIV. It also serves as the regional office for the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Americas. MedMira’s first PAHO product order was from the Ministry of Health in Belize, which is using our rapid HIV tests in its HIV/AIDS prevention program.
"The Belize Ministry of Health is committed to delivering the best in healthcare services to our people and MedMira’s rapid HIV test enables us to significantly increase the availability and reliability of testing in our HIV/AIDS prevention programs," said Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of National TB, HIV/AIDS and other STIs Programme, Ministry of Health Belmopan, Belize.
Building global sales channels and relationships with organizations such as USAID and PAHO enables MedMira to participate in large scale tender opportunities and supply diagnostics to much needed programs run by aid agencies and organizations like UNAIDS, UNICEF and the WHO.
