RE: GRAS

RE: GRASGroundskeeper

You say "It is my understanding that BU has let ADM take care of regulatory filings. I further understand that ADM has not filed for GRAS with the FDA yet."

The June Burcon press release seems to imply otherwise (but does not clearly state) with:

"The major scientific studies relating to the U.S. GRASself-affirmation process have been completed and now form a part of the largerdossier of data that also includes scientific information about canola, howcanola is grown, handled and processed, Burcon's protein extraction processand finally the intended uses of the proteins in foods, beverages etc. (theprocess, the products and the intended applications of the products). A panelof qualified experts must review this dossier and affirm unanimously that theproteins are both safe and generally recognized as safe for their intended usein order for the proteins to be GRAS. Although the process is underway, Burconcannot provide a specific date as to when it will be complete. "

I am somewhat frustrated with the slow process to GRAS affirmation, if that be the ultimate outcome. What is the basis of your claim that ADM has not filed with FDA? Thanks in advance.
