Triex Minerals Corporation: 2008 Hornby Basin Drill Program Is Completed

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Aug 28, 2008 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --

TriexMinerals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:TXM) ("Triex" or the "Company") andPitchstone Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PXP) ("Pitchstone"), under a50:50 joint venture, have completed their 2008 exploration program onthe Mountain Lake, Dismal Lake and Kendall River properties in theHornby Bay Basin, Nunavut. The programs were mainly drilling, withground resistivity surveys completed on the Mountain Lake and DismalLake properties to extend previously existing grids (the "JointVenture").

The 2008 program included 13 diamond drill holescompleted for a total of 3,172 metres. Four holes were completed atJenny Lake, to follow-up a radioactive zone intersected in 2007. Threeholes were completed in the Helmut fault area, along strike to thenorthwest of Jenny Lake. Three holes were completed at Dismal Lakes, toinfill between target areas drilled in 2007. Three holes were completedat Kendall River on a previously untested occurrence of radioactiveboulders.

The target stratigraphy was intersected in each hole. All drill holes were radiometrically probed using a down-hole MountSopris 2PGA-1000 poly-gamma probe, but no new zones of significant andcontinuously anomalous radioactivity were encountered. Analyticalresults from geochemical samples of core are pending. Samples are beingprocessed at the Saskatchewan Research Council GeoanalyticalLaboratories in Saskatoon. A partial digestion preparation andfluorimetric XRF analysis will be used, with a check by total digestionpreparation and ICP analytical finish.

Planning for the 2009exploration programs will commence once all data is received, interpreted, and integrated into the existing project informationsystems. The Joint Venture will evaluate both established target areaswith known mineralization, and new areas in the basin.

TheJoint Venture is actively exploring four main properties in the basin, including the Mountain Lake uranium deposit located approximately 100kilometres southwest of the coastal community of Kugluktuk. Propertydetails, including location maps, are available on the Company'swebsite at www.triexminerals.com. Current holdings include 68 claimswhich cover 63,751 hectares. The Mountain Lake deposit contains theonly identified uranium resource in the Hornby Bay Basin (InferredMineral Resource of 8.2 million pounds U3O8, with an average grade of0.23% U3O8 contained in 1.6 million tonnes of rock; see NI 43-101Technical Report on SEDAR). The tabular, stratabound deposit is within20 metres of surface at its southwestern end and dips less than tendegrees to the northeast.
