Gold rush mentality?
Gold rush mentality?I have to admit that VMS is only on my radar because of the announcements planned for September. Along with that comes the expectation that the stock will rise and maybe even hit its peak (double, triple from the current price). For that reason alone, the stock seems like a sure bet. But alas, it isn't that simple. For one, I don't know anything about mining companies. If this board is a reflection of the company's investors, most of you aren't venture capitalists and have little idea the risks that investing in a company like this entails. They're losing money and who knows when their next debt or share issue may be.
My biggest concern however is whether or not investors will start running for the exits as soon as the news gets good. Although I personally don't hold any shares of the company, I know a few people who do. Most of them could have cashed out a year ago when it was $1.60 for a nice profit, but now they're left with an investment they don't particularly want that's worth significantly less than they paid for it. Reading these boards, I see a lot of comments urging patience. While I admire patience, how many of you really have it? If the stock doubles to $1, a level it was a year ago, how many of you will be running for the exits? How many of you really want to risk sitting through another year of painfully watching your investment fade away knowing you could have cashed out at $1.60? Given the potential for an upcoming investor exodus, is this stock really a buy?
