crime of the century
I still dont know if i picked a good or a bad time to begin investing in the market. i am a way down, but thankfully i might be learning lessons that will save me more money in the future (assuming that my income increases!!). Anyways, prior to investing i put out a real effort to learn, but it seems that small caps and the venture exchange had a few surprises in store for me. In this environment, a minority of people are profiting. However, a running theme (online) relates to "manipulation", and i have to admit this is a bit of a crash course for me. i have been uncertain about how to interpret these charges. In wider contexts i am not terribly sympathetic to conspiracy theories, and at times i have wondered if charges of manipulation are made out of frustration and pain. However, at other times, i recognize that it does not have to be a "conspiracy", but a rather unethical strategy on the part of (some) institutional investors.
i am in the middle of listening to the "crime of the century" podcasts--
https://www.financialsense.com/metals/crime/main.html (sorry, try to copy that link). i am too much of an outsider to know if it is way over the top, or exaggerating something that has a kernel of truth, or right on the money. One of the reasons that i might be hesitating is that it seems to be american, and posits canada as though it is russia....it raises a red flag for me.
Anyways, i would appreciate any level headed reactions to what i have written about manipulation issues and about that particular series of podcasts. Thanks!
