Visit ReportHey everyone,
Spent the weekend in Guysborough county and got a chance to head over to Goldboro to check out the mine site on Sunday. Disclaimers - these are my own personal observations, there was no one on site to discuss anything with me and I own shares, I do not possess any insider knowledge.

Logan drilling is doing the work, they only have one rig on site, an office trailer and supply trailer and a pile of pails of linseed oil and trays for core samples.
It has rained the last 12 days straight in Northern Nova Scotia. While I was there for four days we had five inches of rain. Walking around the drilling site you could easily find ankle to knee deep mud. The water levels in the Gold Brook Lake is almost up over the road. Everywhere we went water levels were higher than normal spring run-off levels. The drill crew must just be thrilled to be working in the muck - at least there were no bugs.
It looks like they are currently drilling a hole which is to the south east of the Boston Richardson Shaft House at the southwest corner of the middle tailings pond (see the attached map.) The angle on the drill seems to be about 45 degrees heading to the north.
I walked around much of the site and was able to identify several of the places that the drill rig has been. Right now they seem to be doing a line that runs West to East about 100 meters south of the Shaft House. Counting the holes I'd say they've gotten four drilled in Phase 2B (https://media3.marketwire.com/docs/OREX_map.pdf). I was able to see where the drill had been for some of Phase 2A. I think the angles on those holes are 45-50 degrees and head south (based on the post in the holes) . As they move east it seems there is pretty heavy over growth - they'll have to clear a pile of brush with the bull dozer.
The ramp entrance is flooded right to the top. I mistook it several times as perhaps a just a pond or a pit. it took a while for me to see the old piping and reinforcing mesh fence before I realized what it was and as I said the water table is very high. I hadn't brought the site map with me so I was a bit confused - expecting something larger and more pronounced. The picture I took sucks as my memory card was full and it took me awhile to figure out where I was and I didn't want to walk all the wayback again to get a better shot or sacrifice any of the other pictures. Strangely there is an old plastic diving fin sitting on the side of the road - I truly hope no one has been diving down there.
South of the ramp area and road are piles of rubble or tailings from I presume the construction of the ramp. There is a ton of quartz in these (see pictures). In fact there is a lot of quartz everywhere around the site.
Power now extends from the 25kVa poles to a new transformer and into the old storage shed and is energized (at least the have a new meter on the side of the shed). This is definitely new because the survey stakes for the power poles are still there and the ink on the tapes hasn't faded.
I'm no geologist whatsoever. But I'm actually getting a bit enthusiastic (perhaps overly) about this site for a bunch of reasons - first it is a historic resource (I'm a history buff) that has produced gold in the past and been forgotten to the world at large. The results to date all seem promising, and finally Place Dome wasn't interested for no reason. I am worried that the drilling program is going to take too long, and worried about the cash situation - so far orex has sunk over $20MM into this hole - I for one would like to see some quarterly financial statements along with what seems to be a regular monthly update on the drilling results.
