Neptune Namibia says it is still interpreting the data obtained fromthe prospecting fields up the Namibian west coast, to ascertain whetheror not the country is sitting on oil reserves.

"Detailed interpretation of seismic data is continuing but [thereis] no definite new information to add to previous announcements," saidTower Resources, holding company of Neptune Namibia.

Tower Resources is exploring oil in three parts of Namibia throughNeptune Namibia subsidiary and has been conducting two-dimensionseismic surveys since September last year.

The data obtained to date, says Tower Resources, has confirmed thepresence of giant structure that could contain 10 billion barrels ofunrisked oil.

In May this year, the company said it obtained interpretations thatindicate the possibility that Namibia could be sitting on largereserves of oil and gas.

"The results confirm the presence of giant structures and indicate asignificant probability that these would be oil bearing. We havecalculated that, on a heavily discounted basis for reservoir parameterswhich contribute to volume, reserve potential is of the order of 10barrels in three giants prospects," Tower Resources said, adding:"Large volumes of associated gas would also be present."
