Site visitHere are a few of my observations from my notes that I took at the laptop, some of it is information that is not necessarily site specific and which you may already know, but I found out -
in no particular order :
- Europeans were present at site ( newsletter, investors )
- Lobbyists ( former MP Ron McDonald ) who was very knowledgeable. They will be working with gov'ts ( Canada, US) to bring awareness to Congo 'blood' tantalum that is on the market and being sold to China / Russia. The upper fir deposit has an opportunity ( if the project is economical ) to be a large deposit in a politically safe country
- blood tantalum concept was addressed by US Kansas senator Brownback who raised issue in February of this year. He hopes to introduce a bill to prohibit export of this supply
- 100th drill hole in current year drilling program at Upper Fir was started on Saturday ( huge cheer at dinner )
- US investment house representative/analyst was visiting property
- several geologists I spoke to felt very positive about the project being reaching end goal ( production ) - results were good from drilling in their opinion
- Management ( Dave, Axel, Chris ) very open and bullish about future of project - great knowledge of tantalum market dynamics
- reference was made by Dave at dinner that he was having dinner with Russians at some point.....
- Axel spoke briefly at dinner and was very confident regarding the project
- most people enjoyed an aerial tour of the property in the helicopter - it really put into perspective how huge the property is and that there is potential for much more drilling to extend strike and perform more infill drilling if they wanted to.
- right now they hope to have enough drilling done to extend the orebody size - the 3d maps were neat to look at.
- the orebody seems to be coming in at expected intervals - no real surprises in results
- hope to work on a prefeasibility study once drill results are completed - probably in next 6 months in my opinion
- Quebec property was discussed at Sunday presentation - lots of potential - current year drill program has finished with some promising results
