RE: Shell builds experimental oil - Retiring

RE: Shell builds experimental oil - Retiring"Forgive the newbie question, but what makes GNZ different with regards to the 10-12 year timeframe mentioned above???'

Hi Retiring Young. Shell's proving ground is in the United States and the deposit lies deep below the surface. They are attempting to use an insitu technology that requires time to cook the shale to temperatures that will release the kerogen based oil distillate which hasn't been done before in the U.S.

In goldnev's case the oil shale is shallow and will be mined using open pit methods. I mentioned in a previous post that although Marc has not chosen a specific technology he plans on building small scale on site production plants similiar to UMATAC's ATP method https://www.uma.aecom.com/MarketsAndServices/41/64/index.jsp

His intention is to build a pilot plant in 2009/2010, granting that all regulatory bodies of the eager Canadian Saskatchewan government approve production.

"Goldnev's management is optimistic that this program has moved us one step closer towards our goal of having one of the first commercial oil shale projects in operation in North America." https://www.marketwire.com/press-release/Goldnev-Resources-Inc-TSX-VENTURE-GNZ-895696.html

These exsitu technologies are being employed around the world right now and in Brazil's Petrobras case for the last 30 years

Brazil: 7,800 tons of shale that are processed every day at SIX generate tons of fuel oil, shale naphtha, fuel gas (LPG) and sulfur, in addition to variable volumes of asphalt inputs and byproducts that can be used in the cement, agricultural, and ceramics industries.

China already operates the largest oil shale refinery in the world https://www.stockhouse.com/Bullboards/MessageDetail.aspx?s=GNZ&t=LIST&m=23649711&l=0&pd=0&r=0

PetroChina is also completing an oil shale refinery (large scale) this year. https://www.stockhouse.com/Bullboards/MessageDetail.aspx?s=GNZ&t=LIST&m=23654253&l=0&pd=0&r=0

Oil shale is produced every day by a myriad of companies and countries. rich47.
