Ms. Stylianides holds a law degree from the University of theWitwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. She began her career as acorporate lawyer by joining the firm of Webber Wentzel, Attorneys, in 1990. In1992, she joined Investec Merchant Bank Limited where she specialized in riskmanagement and gained extensive experience in the areas of corporate financeand structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, structuring, specializedfinance and other banking and financial products for financial institutionsand corporations. Since her relocation to Vancouver in 1997, she has been adirector of, and has been engaged in the financial restructuring of certainNasdaq traded companies and she has extensive knowledge of the securitiesregulatory regime in Canada and the United States. Recently, Ms. Stylianideswas the CEO of FinTec Holdings Corp., a company specializing in structuringand implementing corporate and structured finance transactions in the miningand bioscience sectors. In September 2005, Ms. Stylianides joined the SurgicalSpaces, Inc. Group of Companies as CEO and has been instrumental in overseeingits national expansion strategy as Canada's private healthcare consolidator.
