RE: RE: Can't help myself...John1983Although I agree with your summary of coal vs uranium from an environmental point of view............you have not included the time that it will require to move from coal generated electricity to nuclear power. It won't happen overnight!!!  Coal still has at least 8 to 10 years to run before it will be superseded by newly commissioned (built) nuclear power plants. And there will be a slow phase out of coal...........more than ehough time to get out.

As well, keep in mind that nuclear power plants are quite expensive in comparison to coal generated......where is this money going to come from?? If Obama wants these built he is going to have to convince Americans that the money which is scarce should be used for his "new" energy policy. Americans by and large are not that "green", they would rather burn the cheaper coal than the initially more expensive nuclear generated power.


Nope.......I'm not getting out of coal yet.
