Embraer may compete with Bombardier's CSeries

LOL
Embraer may compete, BUT they look for a partnership, BUT the credit crunch...., BUT it takes a lot of money, BUT they are not sure about the fuel efficiency of the new Pratt & W engine.... So what. BBD is 5 years in front of Embraer.

Embraer of Brazil finally confirmed it today. The regional jet maker is considering building a larger jetliner to compete with Bombardier Inc.'s CSeries in the 120-150-passenger niche.

Embraer described the niche as between existing regional jets and the next-generation Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 narrowbody aircraft planned for 2020.

In Sao Paulo, Embraer's CFO Antonio Manso said his company would be open to a partnership with Airbus if the go-ahead is given. He also said the global credit crunch may well force some buyers of Embraer regional and business jets to request delivery delays, but there have not been any order cancellations so far.

Embraer delivered 48 jets in the third quarter, against 47 a year earlier, and 52 in the second quarter. It expects the 2008 delivery total will be 195 to 200 aircraft.
