RE: It's ALL over boys!First, you're a dufus for even repeating that, second if Obama said that (and it's not a comment from someone who thought they knew what he was talking about) then Obama is a dufus also (although I don't think he said it), in any case no one is out there looking at coal fired plants when we are just now bringing in working CTL technologies ( that is Coal to Liquids), which do not produce greenhouse gas, are way more efficient and will be way less expensive then conventional oil for our energy needs for the future. Oil prices are going to explode over the next few years which will force the need to substitute with new clean energy technologies. One of them is Nuclear and the other as I see it is CTL, with waste to energy a close second and we also have others such as wind, solar, tidal, etc.
What I get from Obama is that he will be helping develop new energy technologies and that is good for everyone IMO. Companies with coal are far from over in fact they are just the beginning of a new era.
