Algar

AlgarSo the long awaited Algar approval is coming. (I hope the annoying poster who kept disputing this has finally gone away). Nevertheless, timing is everything and Connacher continues its long history of abysmal timing by making excellent News Releases at the worst possible moment. Timing is everything and CLL has always been unlucky in this respect.

On the brighter side, this is really good news for the longer term prospects of this company. I don't see oil being replaced by alternative energy sources in our lifetime - not even with a new, optimistic, alternative president. Also, it's not just the energy component of oil, but also the huge range of other industrial byproducts which make it important.

When the dust finally settles and the economic crash is completed, money will find its way back into solid resources, including oil. In fact, the smart money will be flowing (excuse the pun) in this direction sooner than everyone expects.

We should not forget that the markets are predictors and they will always move well before the economy does. Keep your eyes on the ball, everyone!
