Teck Resources Limited is a Canadian resource company. The Company operates a portfolio of copper and zinc operations across North and South America. Its Carmen de Andacollo is located in the Coquimbo Region of central Chile at an elevation of 1,000 meters, approximately 350 kilometers north of Santiago. Its Galore Creek is located within the territory of the Tahltan in northwestern British Columbia, approximately 150 kilometers northwest of Stewart.

Secondly why would I choose to put 70,000 of new money into a distressed company? I can buy a company like HBM , that has a dream balance sheet for next to nothing. HBM that has a market cap of 900 million and is sitting on 850 million of cash. No debt. Conservative management. Excellent assets. Able to weather a downturn.

Teck on the other hand has collapsed because they decided to leverage themself to the tits right before the economy exploded and the mining sector collapsed.

Teck has a great portfolio of assets and I'm hoping they can pull off this deal, but anyone who buys the shares at this point should not laugh off the risks. One of the major risks is an equity issue that will dillute everyone in the stock.

Ignore the risks like a hero and you might end up getting burned big time, if you haven't been already.
