Azure Dynamics Corp AZDDQ

Azure Dynamics Corporation (Azure) is engaged in the development and sale of electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) systems and components. HEV systems include an electric motor, an energy storage system (batteries or ultracapacitors), and an additional power source, such as an internal combustion engine/generator. An EV does not include the additional power source and only includes an electric motor and an energy storage system. It has four wholly owned subsidiaries: Azure Dynamics Inc., Azure Dynamics Incorporated, Azure Dynamics Corporation of America and Azure Dynamics Limited. Azure has developed electric and hybrid electric drive technologies for the light to heavy duty commercial vehicle category (the Technology). Azure has developed three primary product groups, which include full hybrid electric; mild hybrid electric; and pure electric solutions. Target markets include hybrid electric delivery vans and shuttle buses, as well as electric drive applications.

a thread of hope

a thread of hopeThis is slim at best but given the terible state of the auto induistry in the US and it's need to change or die, Obama's Friday statement that he is looking to move ahead with policy on increased energy efficiency and that of the three car maker's sorry state of affairs, Ford is the best of a bad lot. Azd has a relationship with Ford and this may- and I stress may - in the slimmest of terms - have an opportunity to do something with their technology. It may be in their best interest to pursue that as a prioroty with an emphasis on working towards fully electric, non petroleum based drive systems in the longer term as hybrids will have a limited shelf life. Fully electyric vehicles will become the preference. I think we will have a fundamental shift in the US shortly, hopefully for the better. Even Wall street seems to be embracing a Democrat in the Whitehouse,  which I think says two things - they see the Republicans as stumbling financial buffoons and are now seeing the Democrats as somewhat of a bastion of good financial management. Oh, how the worm has turned!!!
