Worm castings Saves Water for Greenhouses Plants

Second Plant Expected Opening Early Q4 2008

Canadian and USA expansion to take place in 2009

Strategic Sales Marketing Program in place for 2008

TORONTO, Ontario – December 18, 2007 -reWORKS Environmental Corp. (TSXV: REW), an

emerging leader in the production and marketing of premium organic soil enrichment products

today announces positive findings from an investigation into the applications and benefits of using

its earthworm castings in the Greenhouse Floriculture Industry and record production of worm

castings at the Toronto plant. Earthworm castings are produced commercially by reWORKS’

wholly-owned operating subsidiary, Forterra Inc.

Eco Habitat Agri Services of Grimsby, Ontario, concluded on their study that consistently better

performance was achieved in a commercial pot chrysanthemum greenhouse by growing plants in

a potting medium that contained 20% earthworm castings. Also, root and shoot weight of mum

cuttings rooted in 10 to 20 percent earthworm castings was significantly higher than in the

grower’s standard media. In addition the findings on effects using Forterra earthworm castings on

water retention and possible repercussions on watering regimes in greenhouse floriculture crops.

“Stock mums grown in potting mixes that contained earthworm castings used significantly less

water per plant per week than mums grown in standard potting mix alone. The impact is a

savings of over 2000 liters of water per week in a typical greenhouse producing 5000 plants.”

reports Sarah Jandricic, Director of Research at Eco Habitat.

“These results continue to support our research and development efforts that demonstrate how

Forterra earthworm castings are an effective, organic soil care solution for many horticultural

applications”, said Gary Gould, President of reWORKS. “We have an ongoing program of

testing by accredited research organizations in vegetable production, nursery crop, turf

management, floriculture and viticulture.”

Production levels have hit a record output at the Toronto facility over the last month leading

reWORKS to have an inventory of over 30 Tons heading into 2008. Higher production was

achieved through improved reliability, resulting in higher utilization of expansion capacity.

“Second plant to open early Q4 2008 with projections to rapidly expand in Canada and the USA.

A strategic sales and marketing plan is set for 2008 to fill the demand for our new high quality

Organic Fertilizer.” said Don Green, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of reWORKS.
