less hard feelings?https://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601082&sid=aOOBme0VzvQM&refer=canada
Is this analyst kidding us common shareholders? less hard feelings? protect their pre-existing investment? Like we care about OTPP's pre-existing investment. Hello ???? We care about our pre-existing investment, not OTPP's. I got a better idea: how about we sue OTPP for the break fee and more, and BTW, give us your shares OTPP!
BNN reports the rumor that OTPP wants a 20% stake in BCE post 11-Dec. +/-$7B cash injection for preferred shares convertible to common. BCE doesn't need any more operating capital. This is a trap. They'll suckle from BCE's cash flow at higher rates before common shareholder gets any milk. Why risk future dividend reduction for OTPP? Ya right. How is this good for common shareholders? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. If OTPP wants BCE, they can give us the $42.75 they said they would or take off. No more share dilution! Go away OTPP! Go find another cash cow. Oh what's that you say? "You can't find any other good ones that produce this much cash and we really really want to own it" Too bad so sad OTPP - your loss - you had their chance to buy BCE and now you want to re-neg just because you want to pay less and still derive the benefits? Doesn't work that way. No deal.
If the proposal is anywhere along such lines, I fully expect the board to reject it.
