Agreed 100%Zzthnx, I agree slimy stuff goes on the markets everyday, but it is also done to push shares higher, not just lower...we definitely are in period of the cycle where it is far easier to move any SP lower. All I'm saying for people is to recognize, there is both good and bad times for any stock, and we all have to be able to accept both, adapt and make something of it for ourselves...the market will not look after us IMO.
I talk to many directly in the industry, some well over 10 years in fact, part of my DD,but to have people here and at other forums continually accuse ,illegal shorters, manipulation, professional traders are mainly the culprits of the downfall of any stock has so far not been proven here or elsewhere. Why if this is the case is this management and others not standing up for their shareholders and helping to change laws,etc?....if there is a problem and it can be fixed, then let us get it fixed. Yes we all love a huge financing by a mutual fund at nice high prices and the level of excitement drives shares higher hopefully, but the otherside of the coin is that mutual funds do sell shares and some of that selling done so lately is at distressed prices, in a time of poor liquidity...any shareprice will feel pain when selling outpaces buying.
Part of the downfall in SP for the mining stocks can IMO be directed at the mining industry itself...lately I have noticed so many updates hit the media with very poor communication...no dates,no values/prices for metals,etc....comments like on a December 3rd release by Implats "they shut their openpit mine production down last month",no date, does that mean Nov 1,or Nov 30th...why would anyone feel comfortable putting hard earned dollars behind communication like that? I can go on and on. Some the Co. I own are just as guilty of those practises, but pick up the phone is my suggestion,we all have that right.
I actually had one President tell me a few months back that some in the junior mining industry with years of experience could see this all coming,(similar to post Bre-X times) and were just getting ready to let their respective shareprices collapse...yes intentionally,( I can prove no such thing, but take him for his word) and they would then go in at distressed prices and mop up shares for pennies on the dollar. Why?, well in their eyes to save their respective Co. longer term, and perhaps an excuse to rid themselves of frequent traders, and/or perhaps to take advantage of the market, probably even more reasons...anyhow, stuff like that is being done so if you are on the wrong side of it,myself included, all you can really do is sitback and accept to a degree what is going on, for what it is,and really hope that our individual choices in any stock weather the storm...or get out of the way, take a loss and move on.
I am what I would consider to be a very active investor, if I own a stock for the most part the IR team tied to that stock can expect 2-6 calls/month from me...I share my input, both good and bad, whether it is wanted or not...phone Jeremy at Velocity/VLC he can confirm my last comment. And no I rarely sugar coat anything good or bad, like it or not!
I'm also Sorry for directing some comments your way,Take Care!
Cheers,Magnum
