re First nationsJustgal is on the right track with respect to the first nations people and their values..When you really think about it, from the moment that European influence hit the shores in the 15th century, the First Nations have been fighting for the earth, air, wind and waters...In essence, the corruption started then..Now, the tide is turning..Until recently, the question had remained..How is using the earth's resources, in a clean environmental way, going to put beans in my jeans...There was no answer to that question, other than if we can't leave a big mess, or damage the environment in any way, it would be too costly... Now that the technology has changed, it's pretty clear what direction we are going in...Having the First Nations as an avenue and partner, is ironic at worst and fullfilling and justified at best...They will finally get what they have been fighting for in the last few centuries...and we get to be a part of that..That is what Global 8 brings to the table, and I am proud to be a miniscule part of that legacy..Even if Global turns out to be pioneers in this, it will not have been for nothing..I agree with Justgal, that the only struggle may be, which ones to pick first...I beleive that in having the First Nations on side, that they will be first, simply because the funding is available whether it be Government or otherwise..In these times of environmental turmoil, there is no way they will be turned down for funding or financing, in order to get this going...I also feel that the Arab world may play a huge part in this..It may take a little massaging and back scratching, but ultimately, I can see that happening.
Just a little more babbling....
