upto $40 a barrel they were building gas fired plants as fast as they could beause of cost/enviro benefits.In the last 10 years,NG has been at or higher than todays price and lots of NG plants were built.That will continue.
I beleive oil at the low end of 35-40 but will avg 60-80 going forward.
Gas demand is
seasonal in N.A. and not constant,hence playing the HNU for now.Please note the these ETF's are a short term trade(like seasonal)
In the link supplied take note that less that 1 % can convert with duel fuel.Sure it is easy to turn a few valves but the plant would have that capability when designed/built.Duh.It would take years to convert the rest of the plants and certainly not cost effective for a short term down tic for oil.
If the Ukraine affects the N.A. gas at the NYMEX ,I'll be surprised,since gas is for the most part a N.A. play.
