VSI on Financial Post Annual Stock Picker's contes
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this, The Financial Post selects a team of 6 experts and gives each $10,000 to split between threepicks. Players are allowed to rebalance theirportfolios each quarter to do either minor tweaking, or to trade inholdings for new choices. The FP follows them over the year, and then reports the winners and their progress at the end. This is a well-followed contest here in Canada.

Hugh Cleland from Northern Rivers has been asked to step in for a retiring expert (way to go, Hugh, this is a plum role). Of course, he has selected VSI as one of his 3 choices. Currently 33.3%.

This is perhaps the first time where VSI will have an on-going focus in print. The print media in Canada does not have the manpower to discover and analyze many rising stars on the small cap scene. It wouldn't surprise me to see FP analysis of the experts' stock choices coming up over the next year. Radar blips are good.

In the meantime, my guess is that a lot of FP readers have the list in hand and are surfing the net today. More fun than shovelling snow.
