RE: shares......Interesting analogy Planeboy.
Right up to the part about "would have got something for your trouble".
(what does one ever walk away from a casino with, other than empty pockets)
Occasionally I will play a lotto or two, but the tickets expire too quickly.
Shares rarely expire (if you know what I mean)
And I have always admired people like 'SueRon' who are smart enough to know when to walk away from the craps table with a profit without letting greed take over judgement.
I have absolutely no use for Casinos.
Well, actually that is not quite true.
There is one Casino I have always enjoyed playing,
The biggest Casino in the world - the stock markets.
The only thing that has always bothered me is the great con job hoisted on the masses, then watching the average joe loose their hard earned money in companies that every analyst, broker, a$$wipe, and media outlet have hyped - Just look how many are shell shocked - like they didnt see calamity coming. And I bet the majority did not see it coming - and that is scary.
but then it was greed that took them down as well because they are playing a game they do not understand. (they should have kept their money in a savings account)
I have many savings accounts, gold, silver, a little platinium and a huge mattress LOL
I have only lost my gambling money. I feel for those who lost their wealth in companies like Nortel, Enron, Worldcom, Tyco - just to name a few of the headline grabbers. How do you think anyone that owns any back stock, any commodities, or these days just about anything for the most part - even gold stocks to a certain degree.
I learned a long time ago that the markets are manipulated. The game is making that manipulation work for you.
Unfortunately I have not mastered that one - yet :) but still working on it.
A lot of long faces walking around dissillusioned these days.
A lot of people lives have been ruined in this casino called the markets. (and lots more to come)
But as a gambler, I see great opportunities here - and there - and over there too.
Yes, I do aquire more secure stock to balance things out (a bit)
But the real fun comes with these microcaps.
And what a GREAT time to start playing these guys right now.
RGZ may be a bust at some time.
But I am betting many of these microcaps will see a dollar again maybe even more.
How long before Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, AIG, RBC, CIBC, etc etc will bring in those kind of returns.
And for anyone who bought RGZ, or any junior at any time.
Kick yourself if you thought you were investing - or speculating.
All you have been doing is gambling - period.
But at least in this casino, you get to keep your shares for a memento :) (at no cost LOL)
Thanks for the good luck. Always could use it.
It is the primary ingredient to success in this casino :)
And be forewarned, the last few months is just the tip of the iceburg of what is really coming down the pipe.
