RE: Same Old

RE: Same OldWell well, we have still got the ongoing debate. Of course we do, because nobody here knows what exactly is going to happen. Many are still here (like me) as we have seen all of this before. It gets down to what you believe, the risk reward etc etc etc. Some do remember this same sort of talk when ELDORADO had issues. There were posts about the end was upon us, it was going to zero, it was going to one hundred blah blah blah.  Those who held, based on the risk reward of a positive outcome there, which was logical I might add, did well, especially those who bought when the naysayers were the loudest. Does that mean it will be the same here. NO. But it could well be, that is the point.
I continue to try and show some here, how patience and holding on can pay off. ESPECIALLY NOW, when irony has it that many now are trading, when they previously held long term, when indications said that was the time to take the money off the table, and now when there really are long term bargains and potential moves, people are trading. I expect they will get about the same results. The time to buy and hold is WHEN things are cheap. NOT when they are expensive and at the top of their price range.IMO
I have also said, that I would put my stocks out, WITH PRICES and see how things progress.
I mentioned the reasoning and results:  things are very good on some of these now, after you guessed it, the same sort of talk on those boards, where folks should have been buying.IMO
I have been traveling lately, but still read and have a good laugh at times, with some very good posts between much emotion.
My favorite stock outside of this sector, as posted for some time now on this board: GERON: GERN Nasdaq I suggested buying and HOLDING. Still do, but it is up big now already. Want a lesson on junk posting, and reality. Just go to Yahoo and check out what many said BEFORE this started to move. It was going broke, it was going to nothing, on and on. Now about $8 from where I suggested buying on this board at $2.99 and some of us were buying this at around $2. Would I sell it now? NO,  and why not? Because I saw a much bigger upside to this, a great risk/reward ratio and over the longer term a stock probably going to over $50. I mention this, although different from HRG in sector, situation etc. It has some similarities when you look at potential and risks. ACTC is another that is moving, from pennies. Point: HRG has the potential to move big, at any time, and based on various possible scenarios. It may not. But the potential and risk considered, it is a great speculation, has been for a while, and STILL IS. Nothing has gotten worse, it has gotten better.IMO
Time will tell. But I am long here and staying there until something happens which either proves to be definitive or changes the situation. That has NOT happened. Thus my reasons for buying persist. The talk on this board is largely a rehash of the basic issues, some in better shape than previously. And then as well emotional or wishfull thinking or frustration. It bears little with respect to the outcomes here.IMO  The gold price, it is trending up. Silver same. Assets here are NOT going down in value. It is cheap.IMO You can see a higher price, a much higher price, or perhaps it stays range bound. You can see a lower price, but odds say to me, not much lower, and probably not lower with the outlook and possibilities. In other words, right back to risk/reward Risk lower than reward here.IMO
For those new: you can check out among other posts: Post 23877042 and 25727631. Where I post real stocks, win or lose, and track the results. Just to get a few facts vs emotional stuff clear.
Take care, all is unfolding in the world of gold and silver as some of us suspect. HRG: great speculation, but potential returns large and in multiples of this price range.IMO For whatever that is worth.
To reiterate re HRG: I EXPECTVOLATILITY, but I ALSO EXPECT continuing appreciation over time. Itwould be interesting to see how the TA guys actually make out over thenext while in comparison. But of course because nobody gets to see, orhear what they actually do, in advance, how would you EVER know????
Cheers, happy investing in 2009 all.
