RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Reverse splitI would like to put in my two cents worth and agree/disagree as follows:
I agree that the vast majority of Reverse Splits result in lower share price over time but only when nothing new is accomplished by the company. The key is whether CIVC can get news out that will make the stock price go up and when the news will be released. You are talking about companies that have a reverse split and don't do anything. CIVC has something that might increase the share price if the GPS and/or Alberta resources are proven and news is released. You said thatyourself and I agree. They could do a reverse split
FIRST and then release news on the reserves and, if the news was good enough, the price would go up don't you think? Maybe a PP afterwards to get cash on the lower number of shares that would get them more money than now? Couldn't that work as a plan? Otherwise, yes, the price would drift downwards if a Reverse Split was done with nothing else changing.
I don't believe the BOD need replacing. Just because CIVC is not another Petro Canada yet doesn't mean the BOD are not doing their job. They don't have much to work with yet as there have been no news releases regarding material changes. Apparently they don't know anything more yet and they have told us they are working on everything. Maybe these things do take time and we're all being a bit too impatient cause the stock pricve has gone down instead of up? I would tend to agree they are not witholding big news (i.e. material change) but I think they only know about Alberta at this time and since what they know so far obviously isn't a material change, they haven't released anything yet. On the other hand, if you are talking about Kirby selling shares at 18 cents then that certainly wasn't a good idea. However, if they were your shares and you needed the cash would you personally sell or not?
A Reverse Split isn't always the end of the world unless it's planned that way.
