HOD is denominated in Canadian dollars. Any U.S. dollar gains or losses as a result of the ETFs investment are hedged back to the Canadian dollar to the best of its ability. In order to achieve this objective, the total underlying notional value of these instruments and/or securities will typically not exceed two times the total assets of the ETF. As such, HOD employs absolute leverage.

HOU just went from $8.40 to $7.80 in minutes... Hope those who were holding HOU didn't get overambitious and flipped it out instead of holding. Hard to time it though... I managed to short it @$8.17 (on the way up!) and covered at $7.96 for a small profit... that was an entire 5 minutes of my life and it was not fun watching the screen... and I'm not sure the profit was worth the brief mind torture :)
