RE: RE: The Peanut Gallery -Actually, if you look you will find the public denial that MAG is not for sale. If you call Dan directly he will tell you directly that it is way too early and MAG is not for sale. Obviously, everything is for sale - everyone over 16 years of age should know that. MAG's key management actually wants to develop their properties!
"If Fresnillo had offered $9...." Well, IF my aunt had balls she would have been my uncle. IF you had sold your position back in the $15 days you wouldn't be here - who cares about IF. The only value of IF is to either over or under value a publicly traded stock.
I own a large enough position in MAG to be canvassed. I wasn't interested in selling at all - I have traded it - but am not interested in selling my position unless forced to - ie an unreasonably rich offer would do it. I know two fund managers who responded likewise. They nor I have a need to sell - no need for the cash or the tax issues. Again, call Dan and ask him of the results from the canvassing. Call some of the fund managers and ask them.
The market will always tell you what the current value of a stock is - simply by being a market. and a large enough exposure/activity within the market. MAG is still trading in a very illiquid manner I sold my privately owned drilling company during the first half of 2008 and over the years of drilling, I developed (by some painful lessons based on hoping) an understanding/appreciation for the difference between what people KNOW is in the ground and what people HOPE is in the ground. The drill will tell you what might be in the ground - extraction will tell you what's in the ground.
I am off to the golf course again where I HOPE my final score will be reduced significantly IF I can just make a few more putts.
Good luck with your investment in MAG!
