HOD is denominated in Canadian dollars. Any U.S. dollar gains or losses as a result of the ETFs investment are hedged back to the Canadian dollar to the best of its ability. In order to achieve this objective, the total underlying notional value of these instruments and/or securities will typically not exceed two times the total assets of the ETF. As such, HOD employs absolute leverage.

I hear you - that's happened to me 8 too many times this week... Tried to play the bounce yesterday around this time, and when it didn't move, I closed the position and literally 10 seconds later Oil shot up! Waiting for the same thing to happen today - looking for a quick move up; do not want to hold anything overnight ... or EVER AGAIN for that matter :)
