TheGlobe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Feb. 18, edition that FairlaneGrowth Fund manager Philip Strathy says, "The horizon of interestingstocks at great prices has vastly improved" since last year. A DowJones dispatch to The Globe reports that Mr. Strathy says: "I think themarket's gone from one extreme to another. It went from being extremelyovervalued to extremely undervalued, and trying to find its ground.Right now, it's in a trading range and it will probably remain therefor a while." Mr. Strathy notes the Uranium One is well off its highs. The stock closed Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange at $2, down 11cents. The stock has a one-year range of 60 cents to $6.85. Uranium Onemade headlines last week when a Japanese consortium made a19.95-per-cent equity investment in the firm, giving it an option topurchase up to 20 per cent of Uranium One's production. Mr. Strathybelieves that, despite the fall of the commodity price, there willstill be demand for uranium, and the Japanese investment shows he isnot the only one who thinks so. Canaccord Adams said in The Globe onNov. 20 that Uranium One was a likely takeover target in the comingmonths. It was then trading at 86 cents.
