Its principal business activity is the exploration and development of mineral properties for commercial mineral deposits, and it is considered to be at the exploration stage. It is focused on its 100% owned 20,000-hectare (ha) North Rackla Project located about 150 kilometers (km) northeast of the town of Mayo in the Yukon Territory, Canada where high-grade massive sulphide mineralization has been discovered. It has a 100% interest in four mineral properties in Nevada. It has two projects in Yemen: Al Hariqah (Gold) and Al Masna (Nickel, Copper, Cobalt). The Al Hariqah is a near-surface gold deposit located about 130 km northwest of Sana’a, Yemen. Hadramout Gold

Hadramout Gold

The reference to gold in Haramout Governate is the Maddan deposit, located in the vicinity of the port city of Al Mukalla. The deposit is now under the concession of the Qutari based Thani Mining Group. Cantex had looked at this property a few years back when it became available but decided the bidding became too high for the property's potential.

A little history on the property - In the 1980's it was " explored " by the Russians ( read Soviets, pre 1989) as the Soviet Union was the economic backer of the then Southern Yemen. It makes me wonder how free a hand the explorers had at that time as there are now if my memory serves me correct about 1600 feet or was it meters of adits excavated. Maybe it was just for chasing a high grade vein - who knows or will really tell. Later, the deposit was held by what I think was a Russian backed company on the Montreal Exchange. Also from memory, could be wrong, it has an inferred resource of around +/-600,000 oz.

You bet - there is gold in them thar Yemeni hills alright!
