RE: Sprott - are they buying at these prices?
As I have said before, I'm an avid sprott fan and have followed this daily.

Sprott is big time under water.  Please go to SAM website and review the canadian equity fund holdings/financial statement to determine average costs.    At the peak they were holding 35 million shares.  Not sure if this is still true or not and am anxiously waiting for the 2008 finanical report to see their position as of Dec 31.    If they still hold that many shares, some are held in the hedge fund because I can't account for about 15 million shares.

As for your other question, many funds are restricted by share price and have established minimums.  This would explain why HRG only 15% institutionaly held as per latest presentation.

85% retail holding would also explain some of the trade action with this many shares out IMO.  Not enough muscle to put the breaks on in the support category or take out resistance casued by penny traders.   Even a million share block is a mere $135,000

Many funds will not roll the dice either.  The situation as it stands will cause serious prospective investors to sit and wait for clarity.  today we have a bunch of speculaters that will turn daily for a penny gain or loss.
