Mining in Salta Provincecame across this article regarding mining support or not in Salta province. Not sure if this is the right time to be posting this, but I think in general it is positive, although who knows with some of these countries. Hard to imagine that they are worried about the environment on the moonscape that Lindero and RG are located in, but then again it is politicians we are dealing with.
Nice to see $5.25 still be in view the last couple of days. Also, nice to see not many are desparate to give away their shares at this price.

A bill in Argentina's Salta province that looks to ban open-pit mining activity and the use of chemicals in metallic mining has little backing, the president of the local mining chamber Facundo Huidobro told BNamericas.
Although the bill has not faced congress yet, "legislators that we have spoken with so far do not support it in the least," he added.
The official said the measure is similar to bans presented in other provinces like Mendoza and most recently Jujuy that squelch mining altogether since the provinces do not have underground operations.
The bill was presented by a senator who represents a region of the province with zero mining activity "and no knowledge of the sector," Huidobro added.
CONCERNS
Huidobro feels that the act of considering a ban on a productive economic activity instead of controlling it can directly affect the future of the local economy.
"As Argentines, we can't afford the luxury of banning productive economic activities," he said.
The mining chamber also understands that if it becomes necessary to strengthen environmental protection measures in an effort to reassure communities even further, "we will do so with pleasure," he added.
